PIERCING POLICIES/FAQ
DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS?
We do offer walk-ins. However, we book up pretty fast so we recommend booking an appointment ahead of time to secure your spot.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M LATE?
We require you to be on time. If you are late we do not have enough time allotted for you to receive the time and care that you deserve during the piercing process. If you are late we would be happy to reschedule you for another time. However, we can't guarantee you will get in on the same day.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO MY APPOINTMENT?
If you can't make it to your appointment please give us as much notice as possible. In some cases you run the risk of losing your deposit by not showing up/telling us in advance. No shows take up our piercers time and prevent them from serving other clients who are able to make it to their appointments.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM SICK?
If you are feeling sick please stay home and reschedule. If you have symptoms of COVID 19 or have been in contact with someone with COVID 19 please reschedule. This can be done through the appointment confirmation email you will receive at time of booking. We have staff that are immune compromised and we would appreciate your honesty.
CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT BY PHONE?
We have transitioned to an online booking system. We no longer accept bookings by phone, email or contact form.
Do I need my ID?
Yes, you will need your ID. This can be a drivers license, health card, passport, treaty card, birth certificate etc. WE REQUIRE ID FOR EVERYONE. If you are underage we require ID from both the child and the parent or legal guardian. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PICTURES OF ID. We will need the physical ID.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM UNDERAGE?
You parent or legal guardian will have to arrive with you at the time of the appointment. There are Minor Consent forms that need to be filled out and signed by both parties. If they are your legal guardian legal documents stating the guardianship is required. YOU MUST BRING ID FOR BOTH THE UNDERAGE CLIENT AND PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN.

AFTERCARE
Wound Wash is a sterile saline that you can either purchase from our studio for cost $11.10 (includes tax) or purchase in the first aid aisle at the Drug store. Some piercings we recommend sterile saline and some piercing we recommend a non scented soap. We recommend you come in for check ups but with the Covid 19 it will make things a lot harder to do, we are offering virtual check ups for most piercings.
Please contact your piercer if you have any questions!
Ear piercings:
For any ear piercing we recommend Sterile saline, please ensure you use gauze (sterile) if possible, and you can spray the gauze with the sterile saline and if you prefer it warm you can pop it into the microwave for a second or two. Ensure you wash your hands and then hold it up onto the piercing and count to 20, this should be enough time to soak the crusts off your piercing. Gently wipe the area and pat dry. Do this twice a day and do not rotate your jewellery by force, it can naturally turn but you do not want to force it. This method should be performed for the first three weeks, if you find your piercing is not very crusty you can do this once a day verses twice. At three weeks you should then come in for your down size (anything with a longer post) and if you have a piercing that does not require a down size then send your piercer a picture of it (clear) so they can help you with any issues and make an appointment if you need assistance. If at any time during the healing process you have the following issues: extreme swelling, throbbing, pain (sore is fine, but not pain) heat radiating or the area turns purple, you are having a swelling issue which needs to be dealt with asap. Please contact your piercer immediately and we will help you out. Please ensure to downsize as if you do not, the piercing will start to tip if you wear glasses, sleep on it, or wear anything that is touching the post. If you develop a red or purple looking lump on your ear lobe (back side) you most likely have an abscess which is bacteria build up caused by hair or moisture. It will need to be drained and you will have to get antibiotics to heal it. We recommend wearing your hair up and off your ear's to ensure you don't have bacteria transfer from your hair touching your fresh piercing. Ensure you are not touching or fiddling with your piercing during healing otherwise you can give yourself an infection. Healing times can vary but 3 to 6 months is normal for an ear piercing. Pressure bumps are common in any piercing but with sleep pressures and or glasses or other devices like ear buds they are common, ensure you let us know if you develop one as you do not want to leave it.
Eyebrow piercing:
We recommend Sterile saline, please ensure you use gauze (sterile) if possible, and you can spray the gauze with the sterile saline and if you prefer it warm you can pop it into the microwave for a second or two. Ensure you wash your hands and then hold it up onto the piercing and count to 20, this should be enough time to soak the crusts off your piercing. Gently wipe the area and pat dry. Ensure you are not touching or squeezing this piercing while healing. Your piercing will start to drop down and your bar will start to show usually after a month when swelling is no longer, make sure to book your follow up appointment as the bar might need to be changed. Do not wear longer jewellery in this piercing as it can make it reject over time. Healing time is approx 3 months.
Dermals:
We only recommend washing the site with regular soap and water as you do not want the piercing to sit in water nor do we want to soak it with sterile saline. Leave your bandage on as instructed and remove in the am and wash with warm water and a mild soap. Do avoid catching it on anything as you can rip it out when it is fresh. Ensure you do not go into lakes, pools etc where the piercing can soak and pocket with water which will get infected. If you notice your dermal tipping (going sideways) ensure you contact your piercer immediately to help you correct his issue. They take approx 2 to 3 months to heal but can reject easily when caught, snagged or pulled on.
Navel:
You have a choice of either cleaning it in the shower once a day with regular soap and water or you can do the sterile saline. Shower method will require you to ensure you first let it soak with warm water, then wash the area with a non scented soap lathered (do not place it directly onto piercing. Clean the piercing so you are removing the crusts that form on the piercing naturally. You want to do this for the first three to 6 weeks. Sterile saline, soak a sterile gauze pad and warm up in the microwave for a few seconds and apply to the navel piercing, let is soak until all crusty matter is removed. Twice a day for the first three weeks then clean only when in the shower. With navels you will see a read ring around the top bead for the first 4 to 6 weeks, that is caused from the bead pushing down when you sit, or apply pressure to it. This is normal, what isn't normal is when the bead is digging into your skin and looks like it is over swelling, please ensure you come in immediately. Check up via sending photo should be done at 6 weeks by sending a clear picture straight on to your piercer. Do not wear high waisted jeans, tights, or anything that sits on the piercing while healing. Do not tummy sleep on it ever, it will never heal and develop pressure bumps. Heal times are generally 3 to 6 months. Make sure to avoid soaking it in hot tubs or swimming pools for the first 4 to 6 weeks.
Nipples:
You have a choice of either cleaning it in the shower once a day with regular soap and water or you can do the sterile saline. Clean the piercing so you are removing the crusts that form on the piercing naturally. You want to do this for the first three to 6 weeks. Twice a day for the first three weeks then clean only when in the shower. Make sure to wash your bra regularly and you want to avoid sports bra's as they flatten and push your bars back and can create pressure bumps. Tighten your beads when cleaning so you do not lose your jewellery. Checkups should be done at the 6 week mark by booking an appointment with your piercer in person. If at any time the bead pushes into the tissue and you have to push on the bar to pop it out, it might be having swelling issues, ensure to contact your piercer. After you are healed you might experience issues that are related to your monthly hormones which can change and fluctuate. Sometimes randomly one nipple might start secreting fluid and have discomfort. This is just a hormone issue and will clear up within a few days, if the problem persists or you are worried ensure you contact your piercer. Heal times are 3 to 6 months.
